As the seasonal excitement grows, one thing tends to lead very quickly to another here at Fiction Towers and our thoughts turned to what we would we like to find in our ultimate Christmas gift stocking.

…without even a hint of suspicious activity; no media circus nor speculation of scandal, not a sniff of a drug overdose or any other kind of sensationalist nonsense. These super-talented artists were ill or it was simply ‘their time’ and they are all most certainly amongst our influences so, we’ve listed them here, not to be ghoulish but, to celebrate them.

WHY EVERY BAND SHOULD HAVE A BACKDROP (AND WHY DARK PURPLE CHALK SUCKS)

In this multi-social-digital-media age, significantly fewer people seem prepared to go out to watch bands ‘on the off chance’ any more. Instead, artists are far more likely to be systematically socially stalked way before any potential gig-goer will even lift that pudgy, swiping-finger off their glossy, black smart phone and actually heave themselves out of their custom gaming chair to venture into a venue.
