Braver than Fiction Thunderclap: #bettermakeitthefool

On 9th December, 2016 at around 5PM GMT, Thunderclap will blast out a timed Twitter, Facebook and/or Tumblr post from all of our supporters, creating a wave of attention (we’re actually hoping for more of a tsunami) but, this will only happen if we reach our supporter goal and that, dear reader, is where you come in.

We did not make our target, unfortunately but the T-shirts remain available via Teespring.

Rewind to 28th October 2016 when we launched our new EP entitled The Fool and a fresh T-shirt design to accompany it that boasts a lyric from one of the songs on the EP, hand-lettered by the insanely-talented Bianca Garcia who interpreted the mood of “The Hangman’s Waltz” perfectly, with her striking design.

We use Teespring (formerly Fabrily) to produce all of our shirts right now as the items are made to order and excellent quality so we can be sure that we will only produce exactly as many as we need and that our followers are going to be receiving a tip-top garment.

Design your shirt, set a price, add a goal and start selling. Teespring handles the rest – production, shipping, and customer service – and you keep the profit!

In line with the excellent response to The Fool EP, the first run of T-shirts sold out so we have re-launched the design as, unlike our previous T-shirts, this one is not a limited edition. The first run of The Fool EP, on the other hand, is a limited edition and there are only a handful left. We will be releasing subsequent runs but, they will carry standard artwork.

Whilst you may get lucky and snag one of the last copies via our Bandcamp or at a gig (the next one is on 2 December, 2016 at The Dove and Rainbow in Sheffield with our special guests, Idle Gentlemen), we know full well that not everyone who wants to can get to Sheffield that evening (if at all) and besides, the Dove and Rainbow is not a TARDIS. Since we don’t habitually play stadiums or appear regularly on reality television shows, we needed a solution to get our message about our new tees and CDs out as far and wide as we possibly could and that is when we decided to start our own Thunderclap.

Now, if you are scratching your head and wondering what the heck Thunderclap is then you probably are not alone so, in a nutshell:

Thunderclap is the first crowd-speaking platform that helps people be heard by saying something together. Got supporters that aren’t able to canvas or attend in-person events? A Thunderclap campaign is a quick, easy way for them to spread the word from wherever they are!

Thunderclap logoThe concept is so simple that it is genius. It’s a little like crowdfunding except, instead of handing over your cash all you have to do is donate a social media post. The Thunderclap website makes this a breeze! Follow this link to our Thunderclap and you will have the option to use Twitter, Facebook and/or Tumblr to post a one time message to all of your followers about our project:

“Get Braver than Fiction’s new EP (The Fool) and an incredibly cool T-shirt, now.

That’s it. What a brilliant way to support us. You can just sit back and Thunderclap will do all the work for you. Of course, if you feel like getting even more involved you could join our Facebook Event for our Thunderclap and invite your friends, too!

To recap, then:

  1. Visit this link:
  2. Select to support us via Facebook, Twitter and/or Tumblr.
  3. Nip off and grab a copy of The Fool EP (if you haven’t already) and/or order a T-shirt.
  4. Congratulate yourself for being awesome.
